Treasure Beach rally to beat Harbour View
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Relegation-threatened Treasure Beach FC rallied from three goals down at half time to beat former champions Harbour View 4-3 in their Jamaica Premier League second round game played at Harbour View on Thursday.
In the biggest comeback in the competition in years, the St Elizabeth-based club won for the second time in three games and swapped positions with Harbour View and inched up to 12th spot on 18 points, with the losers returning to 13th place on 15 points.
Harbour View looked well set to be getting out away from the relegation spots as they were off to a fast start, leading 2-0 after 15 minutes and led 3-0 at half time.
Omar Thompson started the scoring in the fourth minute, Trayvone Reid added a second from the penalty spot in the 13th minute before Rohan Brown scored his ninth goal of the season in time added to give the hosts a good cushion.
The come back started as early as the 55th minute when Chandol Anderson scored from the penalty spot, Daniel Hardy cut the deficit to one goal in the 65th minute, before an own goal in the 83rd minute saw Treasure Beach tie up the scores.
Omari Brown then scored the winner in the 86th minute.
Also on Thursday, Mount Pleasant FA moved into fourth place in the tables on 27 points after beating Arnett Gardens 1-0 at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.Raheem Edwards converted a first half penalty after Daniel Green was bundled over just inside the Arnett Gardens’ 18- yard area.
Earlier in the day, Waterhouse clipped Chapelton Maroons 1-0 at Turners Oval, thanks to a 17th minute goal from Denardo Thomas, moving up to ninth position.
Peter McGregor scored deep into time added for Portmore United to earn a 1-1 draw against Molynes United who had taken the lead through Nicholas Nelson in the 65th minute.
Nelson was scoring his fourth goal in two games since rejoining Molynes from Dunbeholden after a hat-trick in their 3-2 win over Tivoli Gardens on Monday.
Racing United meanwhile, failed to cut too much into Montego Bay United’s lead after being held 0-0 by Tivoli Gardens to stay five points back.
