All-new Q5 from Audi Jamaica
Audi Jamaica welcomed the all-new Q5 to local shores at an evening dedicated to progress on Saturday, January 17, at the Jamaica Pegasus, New Kingston.
“There’s lots of interest in the all-new Q5. We had over 200 guests in attendance at this launch event tonight,” Channa Kay Walker, sales manager, Audi Jamaica, told the Jamaica Observer’s weekly Auto magazine.
Damien Kerr, general manager, Oxford Road, further confirmed the car-buying public’s enthusiasm for the Q5.
“Our first shipment is sold out,” he said.
The Q5 is built on Audi’s all-new Premium Platform Combustion, and is the third generation of Audi’s worldwide best-seller for the past 15 years. As such it is said to be endowed with more efficient engines, performance, space, practicality, refinement, and technology.
The Q5 joins the current Audi design language, having the new singleframe grille and the latest in automotive lighting technology, front and rear.
The larger physical dimensions increase passenger and cargo space on the inside. Audi boasts four concepts for the interior — human-centric, visual clarity, digital stage, and material-driven design. Most will simply notice the triple screen setup consisting of the 11.9-inch Audi Virtual Cockpit, the 14.5-inch MMI interface, and the optional 10.9-inch passenger display.
Current engines offer more horsepower while being able to be more fuel-efficient.
“The Q5 is a very important model for Audi here in Jamaica. It and the Q3 are our best-selling vehicles,” shared Walker.
Audi Jamaica launched varied versions of the Q5, among them the standard variant with front-wheel drive and a 204bhp two-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
For those looking for a more sporty appearance to their sport utility vehicle, there is the Q5 Sportback with its coupé-like styling. For those who want more than just the look of speed, then the SQ5 meets that target with its 367bhp three-litre turbocharged V6, and Quattro all-wheel drive system. There is only one trim level, S line, the highest. Quattro and mild-hybrid versions of the Q5 are due later in the year.
According to Walker, Audi has weathered Hurricane Melissa, which hit the island in late October 2025, and is looking forward to a strong 2026 with several new models on the way.
“We will be launching the Audi S3 and the Q3 in the coming months. The Q3 is another of our big sellers, so it’s highly expected,” she said.
