Portland man charged with robbery with aggravation

KINGSTON, Jamaica — A man has been charged with robbery with aggravation after an incident in Port Antonio, Portland on Thursday, November 13.

Charged is 33-year-old, Andre Campbell, otherwise called ‘Jeff’ or ‘Mr Smooth’, a farmer of Top Richmond Hill, in the parish.

According to reports from the Port Antonio police about 9:00 pm, Campbell approached a man and took his bag. When the man attempted to retrieve his bag Campbell allegedly brandished a machete before escaping in the area with the bag. Campbell was subsequently apprehended and charged after he was pointed out by the man during an Identification Parade.

His court date is being finalised.
