Ghanaian minister, reconstruction team arrive in Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Ablakwa, has arrived in Jamaica along with members of the Ghana Army Engineer Reconstruction team, for a multi–day visit.
In a post on Saturday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Kamina Johnson Smith welcomed Ablakwa, noting that the visit is an opportunity for the two countries to advance bilateral cooperation, while bringing modern elements to deep historical ties.
Johnson Smith emphasised that it would also be a great opportunity to visit with the members of the reconstruction team, led by Colonel Asia.
The team is in Jamaica to provide what the minister hailed as excellent recovery and rebuilding support following the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa last October.
