Fire management software rollout major 2025 achievement – JFB
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) has identified the full implementation of a fire management software as one of its major achievements for 2025, marking a significant step forward in modernising its operations.
This was noted by Commissioner, JFB, Stewart Beckford, in an interview with JIS News at his office, located on Hagley Park Road in Kingston, on January 23.
“In terms of achievement, we were able to implement our fire management software. This is a software that we have been toying with for a couple of years now, working through the kinks. This software will help us to do a number of things,” said Commissioner Beckford.
He informed that the software enables real-time vehicle tracking and provides a centralised system for storing data related to building inspections and vehicle servicing, areas that were previously handled manually.
“We have that software now that will help us improve our efficiency in terms of how we operate,” he said.
Implementation of the fire management software aligns with the JFB broader strategy to strengthen operational readiness and enhance service delivery islandwide.
Meanwhile, the JFB responded to 21,699 emergency calls in 2025, a 13.7 per cent increase over the previous year.
Of the total number of emergency calls received, 11,048 were genuine fire calls while 1,787 were malicious false alarms.
