Hopeton Lindo releases ‘In The Mood’ ahead of Valentine’s Day
With less than three weeks to go before Valentine’s Day, singer-songwriter Hopeton Lindo has re-released In The Mood, a six-song EP which also features fellow vocalist Fiona. It was officially released on January 23 by Zojak Worldwide.
It contains Guilty and In Your Eyes, which topped charts in New York and South Florida.
Lindo produced four of the tracks for his Irie Pen Records, including In Your Eyes and In The Mood. He said the positive response the EP drew influenced his decision to reintroduce it to fans.
First released in July, 2021, In The Mood also has covers of the Billy Davis/Marilyn McCoo hit, You Don’t Have to be A Star, and a lovers rock take on Yes I’m Ready, a soul ballad originally done by Barbara Mason.
Lindo said he and Fiona have a lot in common musically.
“The chemistry between Fiona and I comes naturally. The vibes between musicians and producers on this project is great as we’re all professionals and good friends who respect each other,” he said.
The legendary Riddim Twins, Sly and Robbie, as well as guitarist Willie Lindo and multi-instrumentalist Paul Gauntlett, played on In The Mood.
Lindo, who has written and co-written classic reggae/dancehall jams like Red Rose For Gregory, Champion Lover, Wanna Be Loved and Telephone Love, insists any project he is part of has to have a main ingredient.
“Good melodies are very important as that’s what catches the ear of listeners first and makes them sing along,” he said.
