JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation treats children to magical Peter Pan experience
THE JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the JMMB Group, continued its tradition of spreading joy and creating meaningful experiences for Jamaica’s children, some of whom are wards of the State, through its Annual Children’s Treat, held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts.
This year, the foundation hosted more than 160 children and caregivers from seven children’s homes, including the Stratmore Gardens Children’s Home, Wortley Home for Girls, and the St Andrew Parish Church Home for Girls, at a special showing of the musical production Peter Pan, performed by the Jamaica Musical Theatre Company’s Junior Theatre.
The treat formed part of the foundation’s mission to empower individuals, enrich communities and support the holistic development of Jamaica’s youth, guided by the vision of creating meaningful transformation through education, creativity and shared experiences.
“At the foundation, we believe that every child deserves moments of joy, wonder and possibility. Experiences like this help to ignite imagination, build confidence and show our children that their dreams are valid,” said Kim Mair, CEO of the JMMB Joan Duncan Foundation. “Exposing them to the arts is one of the ways we nurture their creativity and support their emotional well-being, and it aligns beautifully with our commitment to nation-building and empowering the next generation,” added Mair.
In addition to enjoying the performance, each child received a meal and a special copy of the book,
Peter Pan, encouraging continued reading, curiosity, and connection with the story long after the performance.
The treat was made even more special through the support of JMMB Group’s team members, who volunteered as chaperones, helping to create a warm, safe and memorable experience for every child.
