2026 ready!
“FEELING 2026- ready” was the excited uttering of several of the guests who participated in Sunday’s Jamaica Observer All Woman Vision Board event, as they expressed renewed motivation and intentionality to face the year ahead.
Vision boarding is a practice that has become more embraced over time, with practitioners insisting that the act of overtly manifesting the future one envisions can help turn those dreams into reality.
That was the premise behind the Observer launching its All Woman Vision Board workshop event three years ago, a hugely successful endeavour that continues to see hundreds of women turning out each January to plan for the year ahead, and network with other women who can help them achieve their goals.
Whether it was tips for budgeting, managing finances, celebrating themselves as women, or taking care of their needs mentally, physically and emotionally, it was a journey of self-discovery and empowerment inside Kingston’s AC Hotel Sunday, where a new group of women gathered for the third annual event. Dressed in brunch attire, and committed to exploring the depths of their aspirations through creating a visual representation of their life targets, ambitions and objectives, it was an afternoon ripe for the shaping of destinies.
Jamaica Observer’s Deputy Managing Director Natalie Chin-Samuda emphasised the importance of stepping into 2026 with intention, and expressed hope that the women who participated left feeling empowered, inspired, and ready to Bloom with Purpose — the event’s 2026 theme.
“Your words will stay with us as we step into 2026 with intention,” she remarked, in expressing thanks to main speaker Rochelle Cameron, CEO of Prescient Consulting Services, who in her presentation encouraged the women present to take up space this year, to activate visions, activate dreams that were once dead, and led them in prayer to define their objectives, dreams and ambitions for the future.
“For years, advancing the interests of women has been central to the mission of All Woman online and in print,” All Woman Editor Petulia Clarke-Lawrence told the guests Sunday.
“We’ve recognised that women and girls are not only vital to society, they are its foundation as leaders, caregivers, innovators and changemakers, and this event continues this vision.”
She said when women are supported and empowered, the impact reaches far beyond the individual, and said the news organisation was committed to creating spaces where women can grow, reflect, connect and thrive.
“Today’s event is about giving yourself permission to dream boldly and intentionally. It’s a chance to envision the life you want, to put shape and colour to your goals, and to surround yourself with other women who are equally committed to growth and possibility,“ she added.
