Nicki Minaj says she is Donald Trump’s ‘number one fan’
WASHINGTON, United States — Trinidadian-born rapper Nicki Minaj says she is United States (US) President Donald Trump’s number one fan.
The rapper made the announcement during an appearance at the president’s newborn savings account launch summit in Washington DC on Wednesday, where he brought her onstage.
Trump referred to her as the “greatest and most successful female rapper in history” and a great supporter.
“I am probably the president’s number one fan, and that’s not going to change,” said the singer, whose given name is Onika Maraj
“The hate or what people have to say? It does not affect me at all; it actually motivates me to support him more,” she said while a beaming Trump looked over her shoulder.
She rallied his fans, adding that the hate would motivate them to support him even more.
“We’re not gonna let them get away with bullying him and the smear campaigns, it’s not going to work, he has a lot of force behind him, and God is protecting him,” she said.
Maraj immigrated to the United States when she was five years old, before carving out a successful rap career and has in recent months expressed support for Trump online.
