Chalice’s Wayne Armond coming home for Musical Delights
Former leader of the Chalice band, Wayne Armond, will be special guest performer at this year’s staging of Musical Delights, the concert held annually to raise funds for the Sight Clinic operated by the Lions Club of Kingston at 30 Beechwood Avenue, Kingston 5.
Armond, who migrated to the United States some years ago, has not performed in Jamaica in recent years and gladly accepted the invitation from the Lions Club to add his talent to the formidable line-up already booked for the show.
He was particularly pleased to hear that some of the proceeds will go to the Hurricane Melissa recovery effort in which the Lions are involved.
His fans can look forward to hearing their favourite Chalice songs such as Revival Time, Good to be There, and Still Love You, performed in his inimitable style.
He will joined by crowd favourites such as George Nooks, Duane Stephenson, Gem Myers, Maria Myrie, and Everton Pessoa in cabaret.
The Bare Essentials band will provide backing for all artistes.
Dr Michael Abrahams will provide comedic relief in his role as emcee.
Musical Delights 2026 will also feature a tribute to former leader of Third World band “Cat” Coore, who died on January 17. Cat was an internationally rated guitarist whose mastery of the cello was unrivalled. The tribute to this legend will be performed by Emily Elliot on cello.
Musical Delights XVI is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026. Showtime is 6.00 pm in the Gardens of the Jamaica Pegasus.
