Jamaican tax offices to open on select Saturdays through April
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) announced on Thursday that several of its offices will operate on the final Saturday of each month from January through April 2026 to provide increased convenience for taxpayers.
The designated offices in St Andrew (Constant Spring), Lucea, Falmouth, Montego Bay, Mandeville, May Pen, Morant Bay, and St Ann’s Bay will be open from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The first of these Saturday operations will take place on January 31.
The Portmore Tax Office, which already operates weekly on Saturdays, will maintain its adjusted hours of 9:00 am to 2:00 pm on those days.
Services available during the Saturday openings include processing motor vehicle transactions, renewing driver’s licences, accepting property tax payments, handling Tax Registration Number (TRN) applications, and receiving various tax and fee payments. Compliance and audit services will not be available.
TAJ stated that the initiative is intended to reduce congestion at tax offices during weekday month-end periods.
The agency also reminded the public that many services, such as payments for fitness fees, traffic tickets, property tax, and private motor vehicle registration renewals, can be completed online via its official website or mobile application.
Alternative payment options include online banking services through National Commercial Bank and Scotiabank, as well as direct funds transfer.
