ST ANN, Jamaica — Cavalier SC and Mount Pleasant FA, finalists in the last three Jamaica Premier League seasons, will hope to move up the points table Thursday when they play Arnett Gardens and Dunbeholden FC respectively in rescheduled games, both set to start at 3:00 pm.

Both teams are coming off losses and will be seeking immediate redemption as they seek to close the gap on the teams above them in the standings.

Cavalier SC were beaten 2-1 by Tivoli Gardens and Mt Pleasant fell 1-0 to Waterhouse FC.

On Wednesday, Tivoli Gardens were held 0-0 by Treasure Beach in another rescheduled game played at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.

Mt Pleasant seek to rebound from Sunday’s shock loss to Waterhouse FC, while Tivoli Gardens will seek to leapfrog defending champions Cavalier SC when the Jamaica Premier League continue today with two rescheduled games lined up.

Mt Pleasant FA and Arnett Gardens will meet for the second time in less than two weeks after the St Ann team edged the South St Andrew team on Monday, January 22.

Cavalier SC are unbeaten against Dunbeholden FC since the 2021-22 season and a win would see them move ahead of Tivoli Gardens in the points table.

Cavalier SC have won just three of their last eight games and have conceded 21 goals so far this season, the second worst by any team currently in the top six, with Tivoli conceding 25.

Dunbeholden FC will be looking for back-to-back wins after overwhelming Harbour View 4-2 on Sunday, and a win today would see them move three places up the table to seventh place.

Mount Pleasant FA cruised to a 1-0 win over Arnett Gardens at the Anthony Spaulding Complex last week Monday, via a penalty but were surprised on Sunday by a Waterhouse team desperate to stay in the middle of the points table.

Arnett Gardens, who are coming off a 1-1 draw away to Treasure Beach on Sunday, will be looking to get into the top six but have not beaten Mount Pleasant FA since the 2022-23 season.

Despite slipping up at home to Waterhouse FC, Mount Pleasant FA still have the best defence with just nine goals conceded, while Arnett Gardens, with the 10-2 win over Spanish Town Police aside, have struggled to score, getting only four goals in their last five games.
