Jamaican-born Chef Darian Bryan competes on Next Level Chef
Acclaimed Jamaican-born Chef Darian Bryan is competing on season 5 of Next Level Chef, which premiered Thursday on FOX and Hulu.
In the popular series, Bryan will showcase his culinary skills to hosts Gordon Ramsay, Nyesha Arrington, and Richard Blais, who will determine whether the Buffalo, New York-based restaurateur has what it takes to be the Next Level Chef and also walk home with US$250,000.
Bryan’s appearance on the show is being viewed as not only a major achievement for him personally, but also for Jamaican representation on a global culinary stage.
According to a profile on the chef, Bryan’s passion for food was shaped early while learning to cook in his mother’s countryside cookshop in his native Jamaica.
After immigrating to the United States, Bryan honed his culinary skills and built his career from the ground up, eventually earning the trust of high-profile private clients including professional athletes and executives.
Known for his attention to detail, fashion-forward style, and artistic plating, Bryan is the founder of The Plating Society Hospitality Group, a boutique culinary company specialising in luxury private dining, immersive chef experiences, culinary consulting, and branded food collaborations.
He is also the executive chef and co-owner of Bratts Hill by Chef Darian, a modern Jamaican restaurant offering both fast-casual and upscale dining concepts that celebrate Caribbean flavours with fine-dining technique.
Chef Bryan’s culinary skills have earned him national recognition including as a Food Network competition winner.
His appearance on Next Level Chef, showcasing his ability to perform under pressure, is expected to further boost his profile and Caribbean cuisine on a global stage.
