Silent American gets first win on local soil
Five-year-old American-bred bay mare Silent American (Air Force Blue – Silent Ronin)
registered her first win from her second attempt on local soil on Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Silent American, trained by Steven Todd and ridden by apprentice Richie Shakes, easily won by 2 lengths in the Restricted Allowance V contest over 4 furlongs (800m). The race, which included native-bred five-year-old and upward (non-winners of two) and imported five-year-olds and upward (maidens), saw Silent American stopping the clock in 48.3.
Silent American broke off well at the start of the race, tracking leader Shadow of a Doubt (Nicardo Carr). Silent American maintained her steady gallop well until crossing the dummy rails when she surged to the front and held the lead to the wire. Rapida, with Omar Simpson in the saddle, ran on to finish in second place ahead of Shadow of a Doubt.
