Of a Revolution favoured to win Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy

Of a Revolution favoured to win Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy

Of a Revolution, the Anthony “Baba” Nunes-conditioned seven-year-old American-bred chestnut horse, seems well-poised to take home the $1.75-million Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy at Caymanas Park this afternoon.

Of a Revolution finished second to Girvano in the Miracle Man Cup on January 1 over seven furlongs (1,400m) but is favoured to turn the tables given his debut win in the US$100,000 Bruceontheloose Sprint over the same distance (six and a half furlongs) in 1:19.2 on December 6, 2025.

Cutting back in distance here and training well, Of a Revolution should beat Girvano and the rest of the field. Of a Revolution galloped five furlongs (1,000m) in 1:00.3 on Saturday, January 24, a clear indication that he is ready. Champion jockey Raddesh Roman remains in the saddle.

Girvano, who won the Miracle Man Cup, and Digital One, who showed promise in previous races, are horses to watch in the fight for second place. Pack Plays is also among the contenders, making this a thrilling event to watch.

The Graded Stakes/Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward is positioned as the eighth event on the 10-race card with a post time of 4:00 pm. First race is at 11:30 am.

Digital One finished down the track in the Miracle Man Cup, a disappointing effort from the Gary Subratie trainee who had arrived home in fifth place in the Mouttet Mile last December.
Digital One, based on class and talent, is expected to run a much-improved race.

Girvano upset favourite Of a Revolution in the Miracle Man Cup on January 1, 2026. Girvano has been training fairly well, but repeating a victory over Of a Revolution under these conditions is not on the cards. Girvano’s best hope is for second money.

Pack Plays has speed and is expected to make his presence felt, but a winning run is very unlikely.

Ones to watch:

Race 2) Prince Roy/I’m Outstanding/Lockdown

Girvano (Robert Halledeen) creates an upset to win the $2-million Miracle Man Cup on January 1, 2026.
