Omario Wright claims Mr Manhunt Jamaica International title
Two titles were handed out at the Mr Manhunt Jamaica International competition, which took place on Saturday night at the Portmore Town Centre.
Former track star turned model, chef and personal trainer Omario Wright came out on top from a field of six competitors to win the Mr Manhunt Jamaica International title, while university graduate, digital data and brand strategist Dario Lopez, who did not make the top three, was selected as the country’s representative to the 2026 Mr Friendship competition.
Lopez also won the sectional prize for Most Popular on Social Media, while second-place winner Daekwon Burnett was named Best Commercial Model. Kenroy Reid finished as second runner-up.
In a post-event interview with Observer Online, Wright shared that his hard work has paid off.
“It’s a great feeling, a very surreal experience and I’m still taking in the moment. Over the past few months the hard work that we have been putting in, has paid off. For me to have won, it’s an amazing experience,” said Wright.

Commenting on his selection as the representative to the 2026 Mr Friendship competition, Lopez said, “I feel absolutely elated to have won something of this high regard. Representing Jamaica on the international stage is something that I have always aspired to do. I will continue to be my most authentic self and keep abreast of the happenings around the world.”
Wayne Bailey, the national director for Mr Friendship Jamaica, said the strong set of candidates in the Mr Manhunt Jamaica International competition made it easy to select the Mr Friendship Jamaica candidate.
“We were approached and asked to choose a representative because of the strength of the candidates and to give one of them an opportunity to go to Mr Friendship. This competition calls for a man who is charismatic, the ability to exchange the culture of his country and the person must be able to model,” said Bailey.
Jamaica’s representative to the 2025 Mr Friendship International competition, Anthony Arroyo Rivera, finished as the second runner-up and also won the Voice of Friendship Award.
Last year’s Mr Manhunt Jamaica titleholder Rhyeme Wright placed third in the Manhunt International Supermodel competition.
