Tiffany Blu stuns with thrilling comeback win
TIFFANY Blu, trained by Gary Crawford, made a stunning comeback to the winners’ circle with a commanding 2½-length win in the opening race on January 31, 2025. This victory marks a dramatic turnaround for the five-year-old bay mare who went winless in her previous seven outings last season.
The race was a Restricted Allowance IV contest for native-bred five-year-olds and upward (non-winners of three) and imported five-year-olds and upward (non-winners of two) over 5½ furlongs (1,100m).
Tiffany Blu, ridden by Raddesh Roman, broke off well at the start of the race as she settled in fourth place behind Toronado Steel (Omar Walker), Shine for Me (Demar Williams), and Bobbytwobad (Tevin Foster). Tiffany Blu continued to bide her time well until coming off the final bend when she slipped down into third place.
In deep stretch Tiffany Blu surged to the front and kept her advantage to the wire. Rock-Ola (Tajay Suckoo) finished second, ahead of Chief Dissident (Shavon Townsend) in third place. The winning time was 1:16.1 (23.3 x 48.3 x 1:102.1).
