Clifford Everald Warmington appointed ECJ Commissioner
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Governor-General Sir Patrick Allen has, on the advice of the Prime Minister Andrew Holness appointed Clifford Everald Warmington to serve as Nominated Commissioner on the Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ), effective February 1, 2026.
Warmington succeeds Senator Thomas Tavares-Finson, who retired from the commission on January 31, 2026.

He joins the other Nominated Commissioner representing the Prime Minister, Dr Aundre Franklin. Warmington is currently Member of Parliament for St Catherine South Western.
The Electoral Commission has nine members. There are: four Selected (Independent) Commissioners, four Nominated Commissioners (two representing the prime minister and two representing the Leader of the Opposition) and the Director of Elections.
