Reputed gang leader ‘Bloodstain’ charged with double murder in Molynes shooting
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A reputed gang leader has been charged with multiple offences, including murder, following a deadly shooting on Grenmeade Road in the Molynes area of St Andrew South last year.
The accused, Courtney Ashley, otherwise called “Blood Stain” or “Biggs”, of Red Hills Avenue, Molynes, Kingston 20, has been charged with two counts of murder, wounding with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of prohibited ammunition.
The charges stem from an incident on Monday, September 15, 2025, about 7:00 pm, on Grenmeade Road, where gunmen opened fire on a group of people sitting on a bench.
According to police reports, Kimalie Powell, otherwise called “Beans”, a 25-year-old business operator of Grenmeade Road, and two-year-old Tajuan Jackson of Maryville, Kingston, were fatally shot during the attack. A third victim was shot and injured.
Investigators said a white Nissan AD Wagon motor vehicle drove past the victims, turned around, and stopped near them before occupants of the vehicle opened gunfire. Powell reportedly ran into premises number 14, where he collapsed. Jackson sustained a gunshot wound to the neck, while the other victim was shot in the left side of his chest.
The victims were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital by residents. Jackson was pronounced dead at 7:20 pm, while Powell was pronounced dead 10 minutes later. The third victim was admitted in serious condition.
The scene was processed by detectives from the Major Investigation Division, who recovered four 9mm spent casings, a damaged bullet, a bullet fragment, four blood samples and three DNA samples.
Ashley was arrested on Monday, January 12, 2026, during an operation in Phoenix Park Village, Phase 2, St Catherine, conducted by the St Catherine South police. He was later identified on an identification parade on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Greater Portmore Police Station.
He was formally charged on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.
His court date is being finalised. Investigations continue.
