Dunbeholden FC eye higher position in JPL tables
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dunbeholden FC could take over fifth place in the Jamaica Premier League points table if they can beat last-placed Spanish Town Police FC in their rescheduled second round game set for the Dunbeholden Complex on Thursday, starting at 3:00 pm.
Dunbeholden FC, who had beaten their fellow St. Catherine-based club 1-0 in their first meeting, will be hoping to rebound from Monday’s 1-0 loss to Arnett Gardens.
The Damion Gordon-coached Dunbeholden FC are on 25 points from 19 games, and a win on Thursday would see them move into fifth place ahead of Tivoli Gardens on goal difference, with a game in hand.
Monday’s loss ended a two-game winning run, beating Harbour View 4-2 and edging defending champions Cavalier SC 1-0, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways immediately against the strugglers.
With the return of striker Nicholas Nelson to Molynes United, Damion Binns is the top marksman for Dunbeholden, while Spanish Town Police FC, who have scored the fewest goals so far, 12, and conceded the most, 54, will be hoping to pull off a surprise and get their first win in 2026.
