ISSA rural area junior football second round kicks off
The second round of the ISSA Rural Junior football competitions, the Burger King Under-14 and Mighty Malt Under-16 are set to get under way today with seven games while another 21 will get going on Friday.
The first round ended on Tuesday when the qualifiers in both competitions were completed and while Glenmuir High will continue to defend the Under-16 title, Mannings School, last season’s Under-14 champions failed to advance past the first round.
The top two teams from each first round group along with the two best third-placed teams advanced to the second round, which is set to end on February 17 when the six group winners and two best second placed teams will qualify for the quarterfinals.
