MPowa boosts Waterhouse FC with $2-million investment
The Waterhouse Stadium in Drewsland came alive on Sunday as MPowa, Jamaica’s bold malt beverage brand distributed by Wisynco, brought the energy to match day, activating its partnership with Waterhouse Football Club as fans were engaged through on-site brand activity and product sampling. This as the home team secured a 1–0 victory, setting the stage for the official handover of MPowa’s $2-million sponsorship investment in the club.
The sponsorship announcement formed part of a match-day activation designed to align MPowa with Jamaica’s vibrant football culture and the communities that sustain it. In addition to the formal handover, MPowa recognised Colorado Murray, forward for Waterhouse FC, with the Man of the Match award following his standout performance in the victory.
According to Chevon Lewis, brand manager for MPowa at Wisynco, the partnership reflects a deliberate and sustained approach to community engagement through sport.
“Football is deeply rooted in Jamaican communities, and Waterhouse FC represents both sporting excellence and social impact. Our investment goes beyond the game itself and adds to supporting structure and discipline, while contributing meaningfully to the communities that continue to shape Jamaica’s football legacy,” Lewis said.
The sponsorship forms part of MPowa’s ongoing involvement in community-based sporting initiatives, with a particular focus on football as a driver of youth engagement and local development. The partnership supports Waterhouse’s competitive and community programmes, while reinforcing the role of corporate investment in sustaining grassroots sport.
The MPowa–Waterhouse FC partnership is expected to continue throughout the season, with ongoing match-day engagement, player recognition and community-focused initiatives aimed at strengthening the connection between football, brand and community.
