Roe Summerz thinks She Loves Me…
She Loves Me, I Think, the second EP from singer-songwriter-producer Roe Summerz, is scheduled for release on February 6.
It is co-produced by Adrian “Donsome” Hanson and Roel Powell for Donsome Records.
The track hits the market seven years after Far From KIngston, his first EP.
In the interim, Roe Summerz believes he has experienced all-round progress.
“I’ve grown, indeed, my writing and production has improved 100 per cent. Roe Summerz the artiste is not different, it’s tied together, it’s just one movement, reaction fuelled by feelings and inspiration,” he told the Jamaica Observer.
The acoustic One Day is the lead single from She Loves Me, I Think. Other songs include Easy Come Easy Goes, Someone Now, and Apart of Mine.
This is Roe Summerz’s most-rounded project with the Atlanta-based Hanson, whom he first collaborated with 14 years ago. As a musician, he has contributed to several of Hanson’s productions.
From Irish Town in St Andrew, Roe Summerz points to rocksteady great Alton Ellis, lovers’ rock singer Sugar Minott, soul maverick Bill Withers, smooth jazz stylist Anita Baker, among his influences. One of his objectives is to express that diversity in music.
“Showing versatility is not as intriguing as it was before. With AI being used for pretty much everything, I feel like what’s important these days is how well you express, package, and showcase your art,” he said.
As a producer, Roe Summerz’s credits include Simma, from Beenie Man’s Grammy-nominated album of the same name. He has also collaborated with Edley Shine of Born Jamericans, as well as fellow producers Iffa Cush and Green Lion Crew.
