SSP Nicholson commends cops after arrest of St Catherine shop-breaking suspects
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — Commanding Officer for the St Catherine North Police Division, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hopton Nicholson, is commending the hard work of detectives following the arrest and charge of four men in connection with the theft of several smart devices from a shop in Angels, St Catherine in January.
Randy Murray of Savanna La Mar, Westmoreland has been charged with housebreaking and larceny while Franklin Crosse of Hanbery Road, Manchester, Pansy Henry of Claremont, St Ann and Kordel Williams of Drax Hall, St Ann, have all been charged with conspiracy to commit housebreaking and larceny.
Fifty-nine smartphones, 11 Samsung tablets and one laptop computer were reportedly stolen from the business establishment.
“We believe that individuals who work hard for their resources should enjoy the fruits of their labour. Our astute investigators continue to aid in upholding this moral fortitude. The St Catherine North Division and the citizens across the division and the country are extremely proud of the efforts of our very professional investigators,” Nicholson said in a statement on Thursday.
The divisional commander said the investigation, which led to the arrests of the accused men from various parishes, highlights the organised manner in which criminal networks operate across the island.
“This investigative process spans several parishes, and to the detectives’ merit, they did not confine the investigations to the division or the parish of St Catherine. The available evidence and intelligence were pursued, which resulted in the arrest of perpetrators from various parishes who are presently awaiting their day in court,” he added.
