Courts Optical expands Brighter View support to hurricane-hit communities
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Courts Optical is strengthening its commitment to community care through the expansion of its long-standing corporate social responsibility initiative, Brighter View, with a renewed focus on communities in western Jamaica affected by Hurricane Melissa.
This year’s programme will support individuals and families in Westmoreland, St Elizabeth and St James who continue to recover from the October 28, 2025 hurricane and require vision care as part of their recovery process.
Brighter View provides free eye exams and free glasses to eligible participants, helping to restore not only vision, but also confidence and dignity.
“Brighter View has always been about responding to real needs within our communities,” said Geaton Porter, chain manager for Courts Optical.
“This year, we recognised that many families in the west are still recovering and may not be able to prioritise vision care. Brighter View is our way of stepping in and saying, ‘We see you, and we’re here to help.”
The Brighter View activation will take place across select western locations on the following dates:
— Tuesday, February 10 – Courts Optical Bogue, Montego Bay | 9:30 am – 6:00 pm
— Tuesday, February 17 – Courts Optical Santa Cruz | 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
— Tuesday, February 24 – Courts Optical Savanna-la-Mar | 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
Eligible individuals are encouraged to book appointments using the promo code #BView. Appointments can be made by calling or sending a WhatsApp message to the participating branches: Courts Optical Bogue at 876-474-6363, Courts Optical Santa Cruz at 876-474-5865, or Courts Optical Savanna-la-Mar at 876-474-5765.
“Please take advantage of this opportunity. We encourage people not only to book for themselves, but also to share the information with family members, friends or neighbours. Together, we can help bring a brighter view to those who need it most,” Porter said.
