‘Liz’ charged in relation to 2024 murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 27-year-old construction worker has been charged in connection with the shooting death of an electrician in 2024.
Charged with murder, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition, and making use of a firearm to commit a felony is Jason Campbell, otherwise called “Liz”.
The charges are in connection with the killing of 55-year-old electrician Paul Brown, otherwise called “Bringle”.
The incident occurred in his community on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
Reports from the Denham Town police state that about 4:30 pm, Brown was standing on the roadway when he was approached by Campbell and another man.
Campbell allegedly brandished a firearm and opened gunfire, hitting Brown in the upper body before fleeing the scene.
Despite his injuries, Brown reportedly ran into his yard to escape further harm and informed residents that Campbell had shot him. He was assisted to hospital, where he later died while undergoing treatment.
Following the electrician’s death, an investigation was launched. Campbell turned himself in to the police on Tuesday and was formally charged on Thursday.
