St Elizabeth woman charged after allegedly assaulting student
ST ELIZABETH, Jamaica — Police in St Elizabeth have charged a 45-year-old woman in connection with an alleged assault on a student in the parish.
The accused, Michelle Cole, a farmer of Burnt Ground District, Santa Cruz, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm following an incident that reportedly occurred about 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
According to the police, the complainant and Cole’s son, who attends the same school, were involved in a physical altercation earlier that day. After learning of the incident, Cole allegedly confronted the complainant and used her hand to strike the individual in the face, causing pain and swelling.
The matter was subsequently reported to the police, and Cole was identified, arrested and charged.
Police are reminding members of the public to seek lawful and non-violent means of resolving disputes. They also noted that both the Domestic Violence Centre and the Restorative Justice Centre, which serve the area, are located in Santa Cruz, where the incident occurred.
