Superb day at Caymanas for Foster, Dawkins, Subratie
JAMAICA’S racing scene lit up on Saturday as jockeys Tevin Foster and Dane Dawkins, along with trainer Gary Subratie, stole the show at Caymanas Park.
Foster celebrated a major milestone, riding his 400th winner, while Dawkins had an incredible day with five wins. Three of Dawkins’ wins came from horses trained by Subratie, showcasing their strong partnership.
Foster achieved his landmark aboard the Adrian Prince-conditioned Tigray Express, who easily won the day’s seventh race.
The top performer for Dawkins and Subratie was Lexi Lou, who won the $1.05-million Eight Thirty Sprint — a maiden special weight event for native-bred, three-year-old fillies over five furlongs (1,000m) straight.
Other winners for the duo were The General and Sensational Soul in the first and second races, respectively.
Dawkins’ other wins were Feeling Free, in the fourth race, and Lucy on the Go in the fifth, both trained by Peter-John Parsard.
Racing continues today.
