U 17 Boyz hunt back to back wins
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’ Under 17 boys will be going after back to back wins in Concacaf Qualifying on Sunday when they take on Cayman Islands in a Group G game in Alajuela, Costa Rica.
Jamaica beat Aruba 3-0 in their opening game played at the same venue last Friday and are tied for the lead with Canada who also won their opening game over Cayman.
On Friday, Kelvin D Brown gave Jamaica the lead late in the first half while Justin Hayles scored in the 68th minute and team captain Jahmarie Nolan added a third in time added at the end of the second half.
Canada will also play Aruba in the second game on Sunday before they meet Jamaica in the final group game on Tuesday.
Thirty-four teams from Concacaf are taking part in the final round qualifying that started on Tuesday for eight places at the World Cup set to be hosted by Qatar in November.
The teams have been separated into eight groups where they will play each other once with the winners advancing.
