Basil Jarrett lawsuit against JC board chairman for case management on Tuesday
KINGSTON, Jamaica —The defamation lawsuit filed by Major Basil Jarrett, former president of the Jamaica College Old Boys Association (JCOBA) and director of communications at the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA), against JC Board Chairman Lance Hylton is set for case management in the Supreme Court on Tuesday, February 10.
In his suit Jarrett is claiming defamation, pointing to statements he said were made that damaged his reputation.
The battle between Jarrett and the JC board has also led to him being sued for defamation by several members of the board.
That trial is set for some time in 2027.
Jarrett is represented by Annaliesa Lindsay attorney-at-law, instructed by Danielle Archer of LegalArcher, while Hylton is represented by his brother Michael Hylton, KC, instructed by HyltonPowell.
