Apprentice jockey recovering after tumble, misses Sunday’s races
Apprentice jockey Jaheim Anderson is recovering well after taking a tumble from his mount on Saturday, February 7, 2026 but missed out on Sunday’s races due to lingering pain. Anderson fell from Charming Sound during the running of the seventh event.
Anderson was hospitalised after the incident, but scans showed no fractures. While the young rider escaped serious injury, he was stood down for the remaining of his rides on the day.
Garvin Harris stepped in for Anderson in the George HoSang Trophy, guiding Mack And Rome to a decisive win. Ironically, Harris had also fallen in the same race but was cleared to continue riding. Harris was aboard Expeditious when he fell.
