Crawford commends police for apprehension of suspect in connection with three murders in Manchester
KINGSTON, Jamaica—Member of Parliament for Manchester Central Rhoda Moy Crawford has commended Commanding Officer for the Manchester Division Carey Duncan and his team for their swift and decisive action in apprehending a suspect connected to three fatal shooting incidents, including a double murder of February 1.
“I am very encouraged and relieved by the news of this development and news that another person of interest has been identified and urged to surrender. Understandably, the recent shooting incidents have caused concern and anxiety among residents throughout Manchester,” Crawford said in a media release on Wednesday.
She said the prompt and coordinated response of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has brought a measure of reassurance to our communities during this challenging period.
“I extend sincere appreciation to Superintendent Duncan and his team for their professionalism, diligence, and unwavering commitment to restoring peace and maintaining law and order in our parish. I join the police high command in strongly encouraging another person of interest to turn himself in to the authorities without delay,” Crawford added.
She urged residents to continue cooperating with the police by sharing any information that may assist ongoing investigations.
“Public safety is a shared responsibility, and through partnership and vigilance, we can restore and sustain calm across our constituency and the parish of Manchester. Manchester is resilient. Together, we will overcome this period and strengthen the safety and unity of our communities,” the member of parliament said.
