Woman injured in Clarendon crash
CLARENDON, Jamaica — The driver of a Toyota RAV4 had to be extricated from her car by firefighters after a truck collided with her vehicle on Thursday morning on the Swansea main road in Clarendon.
A preliminary report from the police said about 5:30 am the 53-year-old woman was reportedly travelling east towards May Pen when the truck travelling in the opposite direction slammed into her vehicle, pinning her inside.
Police said firefighters from Mandeville and May Pen fire stations responded to the crash. The injured driver was removed from the wreckage and transported to hospital.
Police said the 30-year-old truck driver reported that he fell asleep at the wheel.
