Curfew extended in St Mary communities
ST MARY, Jamaica — The communities that were under curfew since Tuesday of this week have been given an additional 48-hour curfew extension.
The curfew began at 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 12 and will end on Saturday, February 14.
The communities which remain affected by the curfew are sections of Boscobel and Stewart Town in the Oracabessa police division. Sections of Free Hill, Oxford and Geddes Town in the Port Maria police division and sections of Nutfield, Strawberry Fields and Robins Bay in the Islington police division.
According to the police high command, the implementation of these curfews is critical to restoring a sense of safety, reinforcing public order, and protecting residents while de-escalating tensions and disrupting criminal activities.
