HerFlow Foundation to promote menstrual health at 2026 Sagicor Sigma Run
KINGSTON, Jamaica—As Jamaicans prepare for the 2026 staging of the Sagicor Sigma Run, the HerFlow Foundation is set to make its presence felt at the annual charity road race, distributing free menstrual products and sharing education on menstrual health during race-day activities.
The foundation in a media release said the SIGMA Corporate Run is playing a vital role in supporting communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa, and it is proud to support this effort through its Recover with Dignity campaign.
“In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, recovery must go beyond rebuilding infrastructure. It must also protect dignity. Through our Recover with Dignity campaign, HerFlow is ensuring that women and girls have access to essential menstrual products, even in crisis. Period poverty doesn’t pause during disasters, and our work continues as communities pick up the pieces and move forward together,” said HerFlow’s Executive Director, Shelly-Ann Weeks.
The foundation is also reminding the country that menstrual health is not a private inconvenience but a public systems issue.
“The past 10 years have proven that silence can be interrupted. The next 10 will determine whether systems will respond. When the runners take their marks this Sunday, look closely. You may see red again, and if you do, know that it isn’t a spectacle. It’s a signal. Periods don’t stop. Not for 5Ks. Not for anything,” the foundation added.
