Herbert Morrison, Manchester into ISSA rural U-16 basketball final
Herbert Morrison Technical crushed York Castle High 107-35 on Thursday to claim a 2-0 win in their ISSA rural area boys’ Under-16 basketball best-of-three semi-finals 2-0.
Victory propelled them into the final which starts on Monday.
Herbert Morrison had won Game One 85-44 in Montego Bay.
They are set to face defending champions Manchester High, who defeated Knox College 41-37 for a 2-0 victory in their semi-final series.
On Thursday, Herbert Morrison trailed 13-18 after the first quarter, but turned the game around to outscore the home team 94-35 over the next three quarters.
Shamar Russell had 21 points and 10 rebounds for Herbert Morrison, while Trey Turner had a game-high 23 points and Tyler Linton scored 20.
Omar Campbell led York Castle with 17 points, while Kelaughn Grant scored 14 points and had six rebounds.
Manchester High used their good start to edge Knox College by four points. Manchester took a 19-7 lead after the first quarter but were outscored 22-24 over the remainder of the game.
Jayquan Palmer scored a game-high 15 points to lead Manchester High, while Dante Matthews scored 13. Deon Richards scored 12 points for Knox.
