Inaugural Clinicare Pharmacy Relays to bring out western schools
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A number of high schools from at least four parishes have been confirmed for the inaugural Clinicare Pharmacy Relays to be held at Cornwall College in Montego Bay.
Action is set to start at 8:30 this morning.
The meet is organised by the Physical Education departments of Mount Alvernia High and Cornwall College to help fill the void left after Western Relays, usually held on the second Saturday of February, was cancelled due to venue uncertainty.
Up to Thursday, 12 high schools and primary schools from the parishes of St James, Hanover, Trelawny and St Ann had confirmed their attendance for the meet as they continue preparation for various upcoming athletics championships.
William Knibb Memorial, Mount Alvernia High, Cornwall College, Rusea’s High, Brown’s Town High and Anchovy High were among the schools that had confirmed participation.
The meet schedule lists 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 4x800m and sprint medley relays as well as individual track events, including 200m, 400m and 800m in all classes.
High and long jumps, as well as shot put events, are also to be contested.
Each school will be allowed six participants in the track events and three each in the field events.
