Of a Revolution to brush aside rivals in Reggae Month Trophy feature
AFTER two consecutive second-place finishes from as many starts this season, the Anthony “Baba” Nunes-conditioned Of a Revolution should have minimal trouble putting away the competition in this afternoon’s $1.4-million Reggae Month Trophy feature at Caymanas Park.
Of a Revolution finished a length and a half behind Girvano in the Miracle Man Cup over seven furlongs (1,400m) on January 1. The seven-year-old chestnut horse returned to finish 2¼ lengths behind Pack Plays in the Eileen Cliggott Memorial Trophy over six and a half furlongs (1,300m) on January 31.
Given the lesser competition in the Open Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward over five furlongs (1,000m) straight, Of a Revolution is expected to dominate and put rivals in their place without much fuss. Champion jockey Raddesh Roman remains in the saddle, adding to the horse’s chances of winning.
The contest is positioned as the ninth event on the 10-race card with a post time of 4:55 pm. First race is set for 11:35 am.
Zulu Warrior looks like the strongest contender for second place, given his recent win with a fast time of 58.0. Mighty Gully and Money Market are also in the mix, but their times aren’t as fast as Zulu Warrior’s. Mighty Gully won in 58.3, and Money Market’s win was in 59.2.
Also on tap is the $1.05-million I Love February Trophy, a Maiden Condition race for native-bred three-year-olds. Eight runners are to compete in the seven-furlong (1,400m) contest.
Leading the field is the Jason DaCosta-trained London Spirit, a bay colt bred by Bern Identity out of the Haynesdfield mare Blufield. He definitely looks like the horse to beat, having finished second in his last two starts. Perfect distance for his running style, London Spirit is tipped to win.
Another Quality, El Capiton, and One Ianzha Links are all expected to put in good performances.
Another Quality fnished third over the straight on February 7 but appeared in need of additional ground to be more effective. Another Quality is expected to run another pleasing race here, especially with further to travel.
El Capiton finished fourth on debut but should appreciate the extended distance and could make a brave bid. A winning run is not beyond him.
One Ianzha Links finished a good third behind Taylor Made and Giving Thanks on December 21, 2025. One Ianzha Links will appreciate this increase in distance and could be a danger to all.
