Jamaica’s Likkle More Chocolate cops five international awards
Jamaica’s Likkle More Chocolate , crafted by award-winning fine pastry chef and artisan chocolatier Nadine Burie, is a big winner in the UK-based Academy of Chocolate Awards which judges the best artisan chocolates from around the world and recognises their craftsmanship.
The all-natural bean-to-bar artisan chocolate copped five awards, comprising one Gold for its Pink Peppercorn 70 per cent cocoa product; one Silver for its Scotch Bonnet Pepper 70 per cent cocoa; and three Bronze, for the Fresh Ginger 70 per cent cocoa, Signature Dark Terroir 70 per cent cocoa, and Thyme & Orange Peels 70 per cent cocoa.
The awards ceremony will be held in London on March 20 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm at Fortnum & Mason.
Burie shared her delight on Instagram.
“We’re proud and honoured to announce that once again, five of our artisan bars have been recognised at the prestigious International Academy of Chocolate Awards,” Burie said. “We would like to raise a glass to our fantastic cocoa growing partners, at the heart of this incredible journey.”
She added: “These special awards are not only a testament to their wonderful produce, but also to their incredible knowledge and resilience nurturing the plantations – especially after a particularly difficult stormy season on the island. Our close collaboration, shared passion for the Jamaican terroir, as well as the invaluable benefits of direct trade are our super powers.
“We also raise a toast to all who have supported us with love and endless enthusiasm,” she said.
