Bellevue Hospital confirms patient’s death
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Bellevue Hospital has confirmed that a patient died on its compound on Monday, February 16, 2026.
In a media release, the hospital said an internal review is now underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. It added that it is cooperating fully with the relevant authorities.
“Bellevue Hospital recognises the seriousness of this matter. The safety and well-being of patients remain central to the hospital’s mandate. Out of respect for patient confidentiality and the privacy of the family, no further details will be provided at this time,” it said.
The hospital also confirmed that the patient’s family has been notified and extended its deepest condolences during this difficult time.
