Fraser-Pryce shows support for fellow Jamaican Rachel Scott at Diotima RTW Fall 2026
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s sprint queen Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was among a host of celebrities in attendance at the Diotima Fall 2026 Ready-to-Wear Show, held in New York City on February 15.
Fraser-Pryce was there to show her support for Jamaican-born fashion designer Rachel Scott, founder of the brand Diotima.
She has long been a supporter of the celebrated designer, who established Diotima in 2021.
“I have long admired Rachel’s work and the intention behind it,” Fraser-Pryce told Observer Online on Monday. “To see her leaving her mark on the future of women’s fashion on the global stage is truly meaningful. When one Jamaican woman rises, it expands what the world believes Jamaican women can achieve, and I am proud to support her in this moment.”
Scott, who was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and studied in Milan before working in New York for 16 years, founded Diotima with a focus on sultry, handcrafted pieces that blend Jamaican, Caribbean, and European sartorial traditions.
“Jamaica has long influenced global culture in extraordinary ways, from sprinting to music to fashion, and moments like this remind us that our impact reaches far beyond our size,” Fraser-Pryce expressed.
“Rachel and I were both shaped by Jamaica, and wherever we go in the world, we carry our heritage with us. There is a creativity, resilience, and quiet confidence rooted in our culture that continues to shine through our gifts.”
Scott cemented her name in the fashion industry when she captured the 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards, an honour recognising the next generation of fashion designers.
