Gail releases debut EP

KINGSTON, Jamaica — Recording artiste Gail has released her ExPressions EP which she says reflects her musical prowess.

“ExPressions is about showcasing Gail’s authentic sound. The project reflects my musical niche and the type of songs I want to create more of. It isn’t confined to one genre—it’s versatile, dynamic, and expressive, which is something I truly love about it,” she told the Observer Online.

Added Gail: “I believe everything happens in its proper time. I was often asked when I would release an EP, and I was blessed to connect with the team at Unit X Productions while working on my previous single, MetaZen. Their belief in my vision led to the creation of this EP, which includes MetaZen as part of the project.”

Produced by Unit X Productions—which she says was an amicable collaboration—the track was released on February 13.

Gail has always had a passion for singing. Like many artistes, her journey began during her formative years in church.

“I grew up singing in church and was the lead vocalist for bands like Cure of Souls and Citizen of Nowhere, so music has always been a part of my life—live performance is truly my passion. I first stepped into a recording booth in 2018, which gave me valuable exposure to music production. However, my first official release came in 2020 with my debut single, In Time,” she explained.

Love N Hip Hop and The Climb are particularly sentimental to her, as they reflect important phases of her life when they were written.

Gail admires artistes like Sean Paul, T-Pain, Popcaan, Vybz Kartel, Skillibeng, and Stefflon Don, among many other talented creatives. She is willing to collaborate with artistes who bring great energy, creativity, and vision to the table.

Her short term goals include performing locally and internationally as the opening act for established artistes; while long term goals reflect touring globally at sold out venues and cementing her legacy in the music industry.
