Live Stress Free says Espeut
An avid health buff, Norman Espeut pitches the importance of clean living on Stress Free, his latest song.
The veteran singer wrote and produced the single, which is also inspired by his approach to life.
“I do consider myself a health-conscious person, and as such I do adopt a healthy lifestyle. I exercise every day and eat right, get adequate sleep, avoid second-hand smoke and alcohol,” Espeut told the Jamaica Observer.
Espeut added that, while he still finds time for enjoyment, it is a far cry from his party days when he was lead vocalist for KOTCH, the band best known for Jean, a 1983 lovers’ rock song that topped reggae charts.
A graduate of the College of Arts, Science and Technology (now the University of Technology, Jamaica), the St Mary-born artiste described his time with KOTCH as “enjoyable, musically-enriching, and fun”.
Since going solo, he has recorded several songs including Thursday.
Over the years, he believes he has matured as a vocalist and songwriter. The same goes for his lifestyle choices.
“Stress Free is promoting good health and wellness, so the message behind the song is, ‘good health trumps all else’. Life has taught me that without good health and wellness, life is of little worth,” said Espeut.
