Mica Moore finishes 14th in Winter Olympics monobob
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Mica Moore saved her best for last as she recorded 59.92 seconds in her fourth round run in the women’s monobob at the XXV Winter Olympics at the Eugenio Monti Sliding Center in Cortina d’Ampezzoin Milano Cortina, her first effort under one minute in four runs over two days.
The 33-year-old British born athlete finished 14th overall, one place above her first day finish with a combined time of 4:01.31 minutes, 3.38 seconds behind the gold medal winner, American Elana Meyers Taylor.
Earlier on Monday, Moore qualified for the fourth round after a 1:00.41 minutes run that left her in 15th position and safely inside the top 20 athletes that advanced from the 25 that had started the competition on Sunday.
Moore had gone faster with each successive run after she recorded times of 1:00.55 minutes and 1:00.43 minutes on Sunday.
