Mica Moore qualifies for fourth round of monobob
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Jamaica’s Mica Moore has advanced to the fourth round of the women’s monobob at the XXV Winter Olympics being held at the Eugenio Monti Sliding Centre in Cortina d’Ampezzoin Milano Cortina after she placed 15th after Monday’s third round.
The top 20 athletes qualified for the fourth round to be held on Monday, following the first two rounds held on Sunday.
Despite a less-than-smooth run in the third round, Moore had her fastest time of the three rounds, 1:00.41 seconds, 17th best on the day, after times of 1:00.55 seconds and 1:00.43 seconds on Sunday for a three-round total of 3:01.39 seconds.
She is well behind the medal contenders, 3.09 seconds.
Germany’s Laura Nolte is in first place with a combined time of 2:58.27 seconds, ahead of a pair of Americans – Elana Meyers Taylor–2:58.42 seconds and Kaillie Armbruster Humphries – 2:58.51 seconds.
