Chezidek sounds the Alarm with Caah Believe
In early 2015 the first steps towards decriminalisation of marijuana were taken in the country’s Senate. A decade later, however, some users continue to face challenges with the legislation.
Caah Believe, the latest single from Chezidek, highlights the run-ins faced by individuals perceived to be using ganja for illegal purposes.
Produced by Tad Dawkins Jr, the track is one of the latest release from Tad’s International Record.
In Caah Believe, the central character is an ordinary resident of St Elizabeth, the rural parish in southern Jamaica long regarded as one of the island’s most fertile ganja-growing regions.
The song will appear on Marijuana Prayer, Chezidek’s forthcoming album, slated for release in late May 2026.
On the track, Chezidek is supported by Tad’s All Stars, featuring several of reggae’s leading musicians: Donald “Danny Bassie” Dennis (bass), Kirk Bennett (drums), Mitchum Khan (guitar), Franklyn “Bubbla” Waul and Carol “Bowie” McLaughlin (piano and organ), Wade Johnson (keyboards), Stephen “Shaq” Forbes (percussion), and horn players Dean Fraser, Okeil McIntyre, Everton Pessoa and Randy Fletcher.
