Denham Town police and inmates clash after ‘faeces, urine thrown at cops’
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Four police personnel and a number of prisoners were taken to hospital for treatment Wednesday after cops and inmates clashed at the Denham Town Police lock-up on Wednesday morning.
Observer Online understands that about 9:30am, four cops went into a cell to retrieve items when they were attacked by inmates in the cell who also threw faeces, urine and water at the law enforcement personnel.
It is reported that the police used appropriate less-lethal force to protect themselves against the attacks.
During the incident, the four cops and a number of inmates were injured and taken to the Kingston Public Hospital for medical assistance.
There are no details on their conditions at this time.
