Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane has died
American actor Eric Dane who is best known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy has died at age 53, according to a report by People.
“With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS,” Dane’s family shared in a statement to People.
“He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” they added.
The actor last year revealed that he was diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), is a progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease that causes muscle weakness, atrophy, and twitching due to the death of motor neurons.
Dane also starred in films such as Euphoria, Burlesque, Valentine’s Day, Marley & Me and The Last Ship.
He is survived by his wife Rebecca Gayheart and daughters Billie and Georgia.
