Fire destroys house at Barracks Road
ST JAMES, Jamaica — A fire of unknown origin, gutted a two storey dwelling along Barracks Road in Montego Bay, St James on Saturday morning.
Reports reaching Observer Online are that sometime before 8:00 am, an alarm was raised in the inner city community after flames and smoke were seen coming from the building that was mostly abandoned.

The Jamaica Fire Brigade responded with three units from the Barnett Street Fire station and firefighters were able to contain the blaze before it could spread to nearby buildings which included a garage that services vehicles belonging to the Jamaica Constabulary Force.
One woman was said to be the occupier of the building and is now homeless.
An investigation has been launched into the matter.
