Semi-final spots on offer in ISSA rural U-14/U-16 football
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The first semi-finalists in the ISSA rural Under-14 and Under-16 competitions could be decided this afternoon with teams in both sections seeking back-to-back wins in their quarter-final games.
On Friday, Belair High Under-14s and Manchester High Under-14s scored 2-0 wins over Rusea’s High and Titchfield High, respectively.
In Under-16 matches, favourites Glenmuir High and Clarendon College also got off to respective winning starts against Rusea’s and Old Harbour High.
In the Under-14 section this afternoon, Belair High are set to be away to Cornwall College in Montego Bay, while Manchester High host Garvey Maceo High in Mandeville.
Cornwall College had played out a 1-1 result against hosts Glenmuir High, who are away to Rusea’s High in Lucea today.
In Under-16s, Glenmuir High face Cornwall College, who lost their perfect win record and conceded their first goal of the season, in the 1-1 result at Munro College on Friday.
Clarendon College are scheduled to be away to Manchester High who were held 0-0 by Central High in their opening game.
The quarter-finals are slated to continue on Thursday with the third and final set of matches to decide the semi-final qualifiers.
